Caring for Yourself After Your Visit

At MedRoof Urgent Care, we want to ensure your recovery is smooth and safe. Proper aftercare helps prevent complications, speeds healing, and keeps you comfortable. The instructions below provide general guidance following minor injuries, illnesses, procedures, or urgent care visits.

1. Wound & Minor Injury Care

  • Keep the area clean and dry.

  • Change dressings as instructed.

  • Watch for signs of infection: redness, swelling, warmth, pus, or increased pain.

  • Avoid strenuous activity that could reopen the wound.

  • Take over-the-counter pain relievers as recommended.

2. Medication & Prescriptions

  • Take medications exactly as prescribed.

  • Complete the full course of antibiotics if prescribed.

  • Follow dosing instructions for pain medications; avoid taking more than recommended.

  • Ask your pharmacist or provider if you have questions about side effects or interactions.

3. Minor Illness & Symptom Management

  • Rest and stay hydrated.

  • Use over-the-counter medications for fever, congestion, or pain if recommended.

  • Monitor symptoms; seek care if you notice worsening conditions or new symptoms.

  • Practice good hygiene to prevent spreading illness to others.

4. Post-Procedure Instructions

  • Follow any specific care instructions given for stitches, splints, or casts.

  • Avoid soaking or submerging treated areas until cleared by your provider.

  • Attend scheduled follow-up appointments for evaluation and removal of bandages or stitches.

6. Follow-Up Care

  • Keep a record of medications and instructions for your reference.

  • Notify your provider if your condition does not improve as expected.

7. General Recovery Tips

  • Eat a balanced diet to support healing.

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Avoid smoking or excessive alcohol, which can slow recovery.
